Just like adding sacrificial anodes to your propeller shaft, two dissimilar conductors will generate a voltage in seawater. We have carefully selected the proper materials along with sophisticated electronics to power a high efficiency 8mm green LED. All electronics and light source potted in high strength epoxy for a water proof design down to working depths of over 2000ft. SEA~LUME will provide over 850 hrs of operation and with the same light output even below 30F. Chemical sticks will not work at low temperatures. Out of salt water SEA~LUME can be stored and used season after season without any loss of performance.
